Each year, the nonprofit PEI Foundation awards scholarships to dependents of PEI member company employees through the Charles D. Kemp Scholarship Program.

Eligibility

An applicant must:

  1. Be a dependent of a full-time employee of a member company in PEI’s manufacturer, distributor, service and construction, or affiliate divisions.
  2. Plan to enroll as an entering full-time freshman for the 2026-2027 academic year at an accredited four-year college or university.
  3. Return completed application for the 2026-2027 academic year to the PEI Foundation by 11:59 p.m. April 10, 2026.

The board of governors of the PEI Foundation administer the program. Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, character, need and the applicant’s intent to contribute to the future of the energy handling equipment industry. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability or national origin. The PEI Foundation Board of Governors determines the number of scholarships awarded in a year.
